Michael Jackson’s mother is safe with family

Katherine Jackson, the mother of Michael Jackson and guardian of his three children, is safe and with a family member in Arizona, authorities said late on Sunday, one day after another relative reported her missing.Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Pope said investigators made contact with Jackson, but he did not have specifics on her whereabouts. The agency previously said they believed she was with a relative and safe, but wanted to speak with her.



Katherine Jackson is with her daughter Rebbie in Arizona, following a doctor’s orders to “de-stress” and stay away from the phone and computers, her son Jermaine Jackson said in a statement late on Sunday. He said access to his mother is not being blocked.A member of the Jackson family had reported the family matriarch missing on Saturday, prompting a frantic plea from the late pop star’s only daughter to help locate her grandmother.“I haven’t spoken with her in a week I want her home now,” 14-year-old Paris Jackson tweeted, later providing a number for people to contact in case they see her grandmother. Katherine Jackson has been caring for Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket Jackson since their father’s death in June 2009.

Actress Emma Watson is in talks to take on the role of Anastasia Steel in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey.The actress is the hot favourite to be chosen by producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti.The 22-year-old is said to have the right looks for the part, combining a degree of innocence with the acting skills to portray the young graduate who gets swept into a world of a kinky billionaire, Christian Grey, reports online.Others in the frame to play Anastasia are believed to be Elizabeth Olsen, Mila Kunis and Kristen Stewart.


American Idol new judge is Mariah Carey



Mariah Carey will join American Idol as a judge next season, Fox announced on Monday, bringing her star power to the show that remains a ratings leader but has seen its viewership and pop culture status diminish.“I am so excited to be joining ‘Idol,’” said Carey, addressing the Television Critics Association via Fox entertainment chief Kevin Reilly’s cellphone, which he put on speakerphone for the hotel ballroom meeting.She couldn’t be on hand with the group because “this kind of all just happened really quickly,” Carey said in her brief remarks. “I can’t wait to get started in the fall ... and I will see you in January.”The show, which saw judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez exit at the end of last season, will be back on the air for season 12 in January.Reilly called Carey “the biggest recording artist that any of these [talent] shows has ever had,” adding that she was the “artist that many of these contestants have tried to emulate, have tried some of the songs, have tried to hit the notes.”

Actress Cybill Shepherd engaged to marry for third time



Actress Cybill Shepherd is hoping the third time’s the charm.The 62-year-old’s publicist confirms Shepherd is planning to marry a former jeweller-turned-psychologist named Andrei Nikolajevic.News of the engagement was first reported by the Daily News in New York.Shepherd was previously married to David Ford and Bruce Oppenheim and has three children from those relationships.In an interview in March 2012 with The Associated Press for her TV show The Client List, Shepherd confirmed she had a boyfriend and said they “managed to stay under the radar”. She said she was “very happy” with her life.

Britney Spears is mean and Demi Lovato is a brat

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are the tough cookies on The X Factor, according to series creator Simon Cowell.With the new X Factor judges at his side on Monday, the reliably acerbic Cowell said that Spears is “quite mean” and Lovato is “a brat”. But, Cowell added, he’s long wanted to work with Spears and said “there’s really something likeable” about Lovato.The pop stars are joining X Factor for its second season.Spears and Lovato replace judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who left after the show’s debut year fell short of the spectacular ratings Cowell forecast. Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Cowell will return as judges.


With taping under way in Miami, the X Factor panel spoke to a Beverly Hills, California, meeting of the Television Critics Association by satellite. Earlier on Monday, Fox announced that Cowell’s former stomping ground, American Idol, has hired Mariah Carey as a judge for next year.Spears was asked why she decided to join X Factor, which is paying her a reported $15 million.“I feel like being able to be on a show where you can give back and help people achieve their dream is just really interesting to me. It’s different from anything I’ve ever done,” she said.



She demurred when asked if she hoped it would boost her record sales.“It’s purely on the fact I love the show,” said Spears, who said she’d seen X Factor a “couple times” before signing on.The 19-year-old Lovato was queried about her concerns for younger contestants confronted with fame.In 2011, the singer-actress entered rehab for what were termed “emotional and physical issues”. She said that as a child who faced bullying, she had an eating disorder and later started cutting her wrists to vent her despair.
